About

Iman Tirmizi is a tattoo artist, oil painter, and creative professional whose artistic identity has been shaped by a unique combination of wilderness, solitude, and urban exploration. Originally from the area surrounding Anchorage, Alaska, he grew up immersed in an environment defined by expansive landscapes, dramatic seasonal shifts, and a deep connection to the natural world. From a young age, Iman was drawn to drawing and visual storytelling. The forests, mountains, rivers, and wildlife of Alaska became recurring subjects in his sketches, helping him develop an artistic perspective rooted in observation and simplicity. Rather than focusing on elaborate compositions, he became interested in capturing mood, atmosphere, and emotional resonance through minimal visual elements. During his teenage years, he discovered tattooing and quickly became fascinated by the medium’s permanence and personal significance. Through countless hours of practice, experimentation, and refinement, he developed a style centered on clean linework, natural forms, and understated design. Mountains, animal silhouettes, forests, and wilderness-inspired imagery became defining characteristics of his work. Seeking broader creative opportunities, Iman relocated to Chicago at the age of nineteen. The move introduced him to a thriving artistic environment while providing new influences that would shape both his tattooing and painting. Working in studios throughout the city, he gradually built a loyal client base drawn to the authenticity and restraint of his designs. Alongside tattooing, Iman maintains a dedicated oil painting practice. His paintings often blend memories of Alaska with elements of Chicago’s urban landscape, creating visual narratives that explore the relationship between nature, memory, and place. The contrast between wilderness and city life remains a recurring theme throughout his work. Today, Iman continues to build his reputation as both a tattoo artist and fine artist, creating meaningful work that reflects his belief that simplicity, when executed thoughtfully, can often communicate the most powerful ideas.
